About the Role

Amazon Lab126 is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to join the Centralized Electrical Engineering (CEE) organization. This is a leadership role responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of electrical engineers spanning Signal Integrity (SI), Memory and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Design domains. The ideal candidate is a technically strong leader who can drive engineering excellence, influence cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality hardware across Amazon"s device portfolio.

What You"ll Do

  • Lead and manage a team of specialized hardware engineers across multiple disciplines including Signal Integrity, ESD and Memory fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the engineering roadmap and execution across multiple functions for subsystem development in support of Amazon device programs.
  • Partner with hardware design, validation and other cross-functional product teams to ensure electrical systems meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements across the product development process (PDP).
  • Oversee ESD design strategy and implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Amazon-specific requirements across device platforms.
  • Innovate and define ESD design workflows including simulation strategies to drive robust designs implementations and inform debug strategies.
  • Lead memory engineering efforts including memory subsystem design, supplier qualification, and performance characterization across DRAM, NAND, and emerging memory technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SoC, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver robust Memory and ESD design solutions.
  • Lead a of Signal Integrity engineers while driving the simulation strategy for Signal and Power Integrity for electrical design across all device platforms.
  • Manage team headcount planning, hiring, performance reviews, and career development for direct reports.
  • Represent the CEE organization in program reviews, technical deep-dives, and leadership forums.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, tooling investments, and automation opportunities to improve team efficiency and engineering quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including silicon vendors, memory suppliers, and EDA tool vendors.

The Centralized Electrical Engineering (CEE) organization at Lab126 is a center of excellence for electrical engineering disciplines that span across Amazon"s device portfolio. CEE owns hardware validation, memory engineering, ESD design, signal integrity/power integrity simulation, and hardware automation. Our teams engage early in the product development cycle and partner closely with device teams to deliver world-class consumer electronics.
