Reliability Engineer (Computer Hardware)

Location: Onsite in Austin, TX

Duration: FTE - Direct Hire

We’re seeking a hands-on Hardware Reliability Engineer to lead testing and validation for advanced computing hardware. This role focuses on ensuring mechanical and thermal durability across a range of demanding operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability test plans for new hardware systems
• Oversee shock, vibration, thermal cycling, and environmental stress testing
• Define test requirements and performance criteria based on product goals
• Collaborate with design and systems teams to analyze results and improve designs
• Create custom test setups and fixtures when needed
• Lead root cause analysis and document findings in reliability reports

Qualifications

• 5+ years in reliability or test engineering for electronics or mechanical systems
• Knowledge of standards such as MIL-STD-810 or ISTA
• Experience with vibration, HALT/HASS, or thermal stress testing
• Understanding of thermal design and heat management principles
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Master’s a plus)
