Description
Reliability Engineer (Computer Hardware)
Location: Onsite in Austin, TX
Duration: FTE - Direct Hire
We’re seeking a hands-on Hardware Reliability Engineer to lead testing and validation for advanced computing hardware. This role focuses on ensuring mechanical and thermal durability across a range of demanding operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute reliability test plans for new hardware systems
Oversee shock, vibration, thermal cycling, and environmental stress testing
Define test requirements and performance criteria based on product goals
Collaborate with design and systems teams to analyze results and improve designs
Create custom test setups and fixtures when needed
Lead root cause analysis and document findings in reliability reports
Qualifications
5+ years in reliability or test engineering for electronics or mechanical systems
Knowledge of standards such as MIL-STD-810 or ISTA
Experience with vibration, HALT/HASS, or thermal stress testing
Understanding of thermal design and heat management principles
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Master’s a plus)
