Amazon reliability team aims to develop reliable and robust products that delight our customers. In this role, as a Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability engineering of our new and emerging devices.

The Role:

As a Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will be responsible for the test and validation of consumer electronics devices. You should have a good understanding of Reliability statistics/Reliability tests and/or solid understanding of electrical products to influence design for reliability to:

  • Identify and validate product risks, including but not limited to electrical system, mechanical system, and work with design teams to mitigate them
  • Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability
  • Provide hands-on experimental design and execution
  • Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and products in the field

Key job responsibilities

Reliability Engineers are crucial in the creation and use of different assessments for evaluating design risks and proposing mitigation measures. This job serves as an unbiased product evaluator for designs, recommending and communicating product risks and driving improvements with data. This job has influence across all teams, including those responsible for program, product, design, software, procurement, manufacturing, support, and legal. This position"s primary responsibility is to ensure that products are safe and reliability for our customers.
