You'll collaborate across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.ResponsibilitiesProactively drive reliability risk identification, assessment, and mitigation for datacenter infrastructure and security equipment such as Air Handling Units, LV Generators, Liquid Cooling, Power Generators, and Chillers.Conduct root cause analysis of critical equipment failures and drive continuous improvements to increase datacenter availability & security for AWS customers.Work closely with internal and external partners, including suppliers, to define and execute product specification, risk identification plans, and lifecycle environmental and operational stress‑driven risk analysis.Apply Physics‑of‑Failure based approaches to develop analytical and empirical methods for product quality and reliability risk identification during design, manufacturing, and deployment stages.Analyze lifecycle environmental and operational stresses such as thermal, electrical, chemical, and mechanical stresses to identify overstress and fatigue‑related product weaknesses.Assess electronics manufacturing processes for quality and reliability issues and use statistical techniques and models to analyze test and field data.Identify critical components, drive vendor selection and qualification requirements, and establish critical-to-quality and reliability metrics using process capability for electronic component production.Develop datacenter system‑level reliability models, perform reliability quantification, and conduct risk analysis for datacenter configuration optimization using tools such as reliability block diagrams, statistical modeling, and data analytics.Monitor product performance in the field during sustaining stages, conduct root cause analysis of critical failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Lead effective vendor auditing and quarterly review processes to drive continuous improvement of datacenter availability.Travel within the US and internationally as required.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Reliability Engineering.At least 4 years of reliability engineering work experience in a high‑reliability industry.At least 2 years of experience with accelerated life testing, stress analysis, and finite element analysis.Preferred Qualifications7+ years of experience in reliability risk identification and assessment from component to system level, applying analytical, experimental, and statistical approaches.Experience with proactive and effective reliability approaches in a cost‑effective manner throughout product design, manufacturing, and deployment stages.Proven experience working with external design and manufacturing supply‑chain partners.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
