Hatch Foreman - 20.00-22.00 Per Hour - HEAVY OT SAVARD Personnel Group is seeking an experienced Hatch Boss to oversee and coordinate marine cargo handling operations aboard vessels. The Hatch Boss will provide leadership to the cargo-handling crew, coordinate closely with crane operators, ensure safe lifting practices, and maintain proper cargo sequence and stowage procedures.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with marine cargo operations and a strong understanding of vessel holds, lifting operations, rigging, PPE, hazard recognition, and emergency procedures. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the stevedore crew working inside the ship's hatch (cargo hold)
Coordinate and direct unloading operations to ensure safe and efficient cargo movement
Work closely with crane operators, forklift operators, cargo checkers, and terminal personnel
Oversee the unloading of bagged cement, supersacks, and other bulk cargo
Ensure compliance with all port, OSHA, and company safety procedures
Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and communicate daily work assignments
Monitor crew productivity and maintain operational schedules
Report equipment, safety, or operational issues to management
Maintain accurate records of cargo operations and crew activities
Assist with cargo handling and other dock operations as needed
