Job Summary
Seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to grow our hazardous and industrial waste management business across North and South Carolina. This role sells waste collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal services to manufacturers, healthcare facilities, laboratories, and industrial clients, while ensuring all activity aligns with SCDHEC (South Carolina) and NCDEQ (North Carolina) regulations as well as federal EPA/DOT hazardous waste rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and close new business across assigned NC/SC territories, targeting manufacturers, industrial facilities, healthcare, labs, and municipalities generating hazardous and regulated waste
- Manage and expand existing customer relationships, conducting regular site visits throughout both states
- Assess client waste streams and recommend compliant collection, treatment, and disposal solutions (RCRA hazardous waste, universal waste, used oil, etc.)
- Ensure all proposals and service agreements comply with NCDEQ and SCDHEC hazardous waste regulations, along with EPA and DOT (49 CFR) transportation requirements
- Coordinate with operations/logistics teams on manifesting, labeling, and scheduling of hazardous waste pickups
- Maintain accurate records of waste profiles, permits, and generator status for customers
- Build relationships with environmental consultants, EHS managers, and permitting officials across the territory
- Track leads, opportunities, and account activity in CRM software
- Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly revenue and new-account targets
- Stay current on changes to NC and SC state environmental regulations and attend relevant industry events (e.g., SWANA chapter events, state EHS conferences)
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in waste management, environmental services, or industrial services
- Familiarity with RCRA hazardous waste regulations and NC/SC-specific environmental compliance requirements a strong plus
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record; willingness to travel extensively within NC and SC (50–75%)
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience
- DOT HAZMAT training/certification a plus (or willingness to obtain within [90] days)
