Job Summary/Objective:

The Housekeeping Team Member is responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services to both residential units and common areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors at Montereau. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive cleaning services for assigned areas, including vacuuming, dusting, waste removal, changing and washing bed linens, and cleaning floors, fixtures, and appliances, following departmental guidelines.
  • Maintain assigned housekeeping supplies and equipment in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Report resident complaints or concerns to the Housekeeping Manager or Hospitality Director.
  • Offer friendly customer service to residents or guests in the unit during cleaning services, responding to questions or conversations as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-training between housekeeping and laundry to provide support for laundry operations when required.
  • Provide backup housekeeping support to other areas of Montereau, as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Familiarity with proper cleaning procedures, infection control, and universal precautions.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Strong verbal communication skills for quality customer service.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extensive standing and walking; moderate twisting, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
  • Ability to push frequently and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional ladder climbing.
  • Regular use of hearing and vision at normal levels.
  • Primarily an indoor role with frequent exposure to cleaning fumes, odors, and dust.
