Company Headquarters: Chester, MDProject Location: Richmond, VATravel: Project-based travel as neededJob Type: Full-Time OverviewDrill-Tech is seeking an HDD Foreman to lead horizontal directional drilling crews on an underground utility project in Richmond, Virginia.Headquartered in Chester, Maryland, Drill-Tech supports HDD and underground utility projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily field operations, coordinating crews, operating equipment as needed, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise HDD field crews on active projectsCoordinate daily work assignments and crew activitiesOperate HDD equipment as needed and assist with drilling operationsOversee drilling, reaming, pullback, and pipe installationCoordinate with locators, operators, laborers, and project leadershipEnsure equipment inspections and preventative maintenance are completedMonitor productivity, quality, and jobsite safetyIdentify and resolve field issues while maintaining project schedulesTrain and mentor crew membersMaintain communication with project management and company leadership Qualifications5+ years of HDD, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experiencePrevious experience leading HDD crews or serving as a Crew Lead or ForemanStrong understanding of HDD equipment, drilling operations, and underground utility constructionExperience operating Vermeer 23x30, 24x40, or similar HDD equipmentAbility to read plans and coordinate daily field operationsValid driver's licenseStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Preferred QualificationsClass A CDLOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience operating Vermeer 100-series drills, 300,000 lb, or 500,000 lb maxi rigsExperience with DigiTrak or ParaTrack locating systemsExperience with McElroy fusion equipmentExperience with mud systems, pumps, recyclers, and drilling fluid management BenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid holidaysOpportunities for advancement within a growing HDD contractor
