The YMCA of the Roses is seeking a dedicated Head Age Group Coach to lead and develop our competitive swimming program. In this role, you'll create a safe, positive, and motivating environment for swimmers of all levels while mentoring assistant coaches and supporting the growth of our aquatics community.

The Head Age Group Coach at the YMCA of the Roses creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining the safety of all aquatic facility users in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares and plans practices in accordance with the developmental and junior age group team standards for scheduled practices. Primary coach of JR B squad and assistant coach for Pre-Team, Advanced and Novice. Spends time alongside Head Coach with Seniors and JR A.
- Oversees 3-10 assistant coaches in both the Junior and Development
- Assists Head Coach with the planning and facilitation of dryland sessions for various
- Develops, promotes, and manages the competitive swimming program in a manner consistent with USA Swimming and YMCA standards.
- Help to create new approaches to serve the needs of program
- Supervises the general facilities on-site (pool, pool deck, equipment storage, locker rooms) as well as off-site for upkeep, cleanliness and proper usage during and following program
- Maintains proper records/department
- Maintains constant supervision of swimmers, identifies swimmers who need assistance, and supports swimmers as necessary to ensure a positive learning environment.
- Attend team meets as directed by the Executive Director and Head Assist the team in setup procedure and clean up procedure during home meets at their YMCA facility.
- Attends team social functions, year-end banquets and assists with fundraising
- Under the direction of the Head Coach, seeks educational opportunities through the National YMCA competitive Swimming Coaches Association and the American Swimming
Coaches Association.
- Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards, and ensures consistency with evidence-based Relate to the individual swimmer on a personal basis at practice, meets and other venues. Relate to parents concerns through individual contact before or after practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 18
- No less than 2 years experience coaching similar Swim Teams
- Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, Lifeguarding and/or Coaches Safety
- USA and YMCA coach certification within 1 month of hire
- Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
- Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance
- Complete all required trainings within 1 month of hire

- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around coaching area
- Has good depth perception and field of vision
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
- Be prepared to work in outside weather conditions during the season
