As the Head Assistant Coach for Wrestling, you'll have the opportunity to develop competitive athletes, contribute to a growing NCAA Division I program, and make a lasting impact through mentorship, recruiting, and program development. Working alongside dedicated coaches and staff, you'll help foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and academic achievement while supporting the continued growth and success of UVU Wrestling. This role is ideal for a motivated coach who is passionate about athlete development, team success, and creating meaningful student experiences.   Summary of Responsibilities   • Assists in monitoring team members' eligibility according to requirements set by the University, NCAA, and conference.   • Teaches and maintains the effective skill level of the Wrestling team. Set up equipment and go over drills and strategies that will be utilized during practice.   • Recruits student athletes who will represent the program in a positive way. Scout's future opponents. Prepares scouting reports and helps formulate game plans.   • Promotes Booster organizations for effective relations and financial support, as well as school spirit and loyalty. Assists the head coach in fundraising and soccer program resource development.   • Assists the head coach, athletic director, and other department staff in maintaining an effective program. Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
