Head Boys Basketball Coach

Manteo High School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve as our Head Boys Basketball Coach. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the court and who is committed to building a competitive program grounded in character, accountability, teamwork, and academic success.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the Boys Basketball program, including varsity and developmental levels.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive program that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic achievement.
• Organize and conduct practices, games, off-season workouts, camps, and summer activities in accordance with district and state athletic guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, and the community.
• Collaborate with school administration, athletic department staff, and faculty to support student success.
• Maintain compliance with all school, district, conference, and state athletic association policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and pride within the basketball program.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience in basketball preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of student-athletes.
• Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching eligibility.
