We have a great opportunity to apply your Cashier skills in our Store! Our Uncle Giuseppe's Store located in Yorktown Heights, NY is seeking a PT Head Cashier for their team!
The Head Cashier will ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience at check-out for all customers and guests. Will be responsible for training cashiers on drawer accuracy and positive interactions with customers. Maintaining staffing levels as appropriate for store staffing ratios, assisting as the backup cashier as needed. You will ensure the check-out area is kept clean and safe.
An ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a cashier and have a customer focused attitude with a passion for motivating and training others. You will partner with the Store Manager to minimize inventory loss.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve all issues with the cash register and other equipment
- Keeps the check-out area clean and serviceable
- Maintain schedule for cashiers and ensure coverage during all shifts
- Train and oversee cashiers
- Understand product placement at the store to answer customer questions
- Ensure accurate drawer reconciliation at the end of each shift
- Serve as backup for any cashiers calling out
- Track cashier break schedules
- Other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years previous experience as a cashier
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Keen ability to multitask and manage a large staff of cashiers
- Must demonstrate a friendly and courteous attitude
- Strong leadership and training and development skills are needed in order to to train and mentor cashiers within department
- Experience reconciling registers
- Superior customer service skills
- Must speak fluent English
