POSITION: Head Coach for Boys Soccer
Putnam Middle School is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to lead our Middle School Boys Soccer program as Head Coach for the 2026-2027 fall season. We are looking for a committed professional who will foster a positive, supportive, and safe environment while teaching fundamental soccer skills, sportsmanship, and discipline to our student-athletes.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the middle school boys soccer program, focusing on participation, skill building, and a positive team culture.
Coaching & Instruction: Plan and conduct effective, age-appropriate practices focusing on fundamental techniques, safety, game strategies, and conditioning.
Game Management: Develop and organize lineups, manage games, and make strategic decisions during competition.
Student Development: Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, responsibility, and commitment to academic success.
Administrative Tasks: Manage equipment inventory, coordinate travel logistics, and maintain clear communication with the Athletic Coordinator, school staff, and parents.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, and middle school athletic association rules and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required
First Aid/CPR Certification
Demonstrated knowledge of soccer fundamentals, tactical strategies, and safety protocols for middle school athletes.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and build confidence in student-athletes of all skill levels.
Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
RATE OF PAY: $3,837 for the 2026-2027 School Year (* fall season)
