Minimum Qualifications: ØAttend the free Unified Sports Basketball training and complete the free 90-minute course via the Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA) ØSpecial Educator license preferred. ØThree years working in the field of special education Responsibilities
ØOversee the administration of the High Schools' Unified Basketball team which is a MIAA team sport comprised of athletes and peer partners ØMeet regularly with BHS Special Education Coordinator and SOMA to ensure quality program standards are being met and policies followed ØOrganize and lead all practice sessions and meets both home and away ØRecruit students with intellectual disabilities and autism and neurotypical peers ØCoordinate transportation for away meets ØCommunicate all program information to families and coordinate transportation arrangements to ensure students are picked up and dropped off safely and on time.
Reports to:Brockton High School Special Education Coordinator and Athletic Director Work Hours:Varied based on practice and meet schedule.
Compensation: $4609 Stipend
Compensation paid for through the Special Education Department
