Head Cook Job Description
Responsible to: Lunchroom Administrator (primary), Church and School Business Administrator & Principal. Responsibilities & Duties Commits to our mission and vision of the Church and School.
Supervise all assigned food service personnel. Coordinate and distribute volunteer schedules in cooperation with the Lunchroom Administrator, including scheduling family volunteers to serve in the kitchen. Demonstrates professionalism in dress, conduct, demeanor, and work habits. Inspects school lunch facilities and operations to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained in coordination with the Facility Manager. Administer standards to meet state, local, and/or federal food safety and sanitation laws, and follow health department guidelines. Cook and serve meals. Clean up after lunch, including deep cleaning and sanitizing of the kitchen. Attend School Orientation. Prepare and meet with the government auditing agency and follow government guidelines. Performs other duties or responsibilities as requested by the Board of Christian Education or Principal.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Qualifications & Conditions of Employment
Qualifications: Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED) and be at least 18 years of age or follow the requirements of state licensing, and state and federal background checks. Maintain required training and certifications with state, federal and St. John's regulations.
Salary (hourly): Commensurate with experience.
Maintain Required training and certifications for state/federal background checks and St. John's standards.
Fringe Benefits: Health Care and retirement. Vacation depends upon years of experience.
