Head Cook

The Heritage Restaurant is a locally owned, traditional, family restaurant featuring a full bar & a seasonal deck with a diverse beer list, hearty burgers, diverse entrees, and our famous buffalo wings. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and talented Head Cook to lead our kitchen team. In this role, you will oversee daily culinary operations, manage kitchen staff, and ensure every dish meets our high standards of quality and flavor. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong leadership skills, and has a deep love for creating exceptional food.

Key Responsibilities:

• Kitchen Leadership: Direct daily food preparation, cooking, and plating operations.

• Staff Management: Schedule, train, and supervise line cooks and kitchen prep staff.

• Quality Control: Maintain consistency in food taste, portion size, and presentation.

• Inventory & Ordering: Manage stock levels, order ingredients, and minimize food waste.

• Safety & Sanitation: Enforce strict health department regulations and kitchen cleanliness standards.

• Menu Collaboration: Assist the Owner/General Manager in developing new menu items and specials.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Lead Cook, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager or Head Cook.

• Culinary Knowledge: Deep understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.

• Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and direct a diverse kitchen crew.

• Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work efficiently under pressure during peak hours.

• Certification: Food Handler or ServSafe certification required.

Salary:

$21-$25/hour dependent on experience.
