POSITION TITLE: Head Dance and Cheer Coach REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics POSITION SUMMARY: Demonstrating a willingness and capability to abide by Athletic Department, Eureka College, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association rules, the Head Coach is responsible for the daily functioning of their team which includes planning, organizing, instructing, directing, and managing a program exemplified by integrity. SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: Manage and supervise assistant coaches, team managers and student workers. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION: Essential: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university; or High School diploma/GED with related professional playing experience Desirable: Master’s Degree. EXPERIENCE: Essential: 3-5 years coaching in Dance and Cheer or a combination of experience at the high school or college level; or multiple years of professional Dance and Cheer experience. Desirable: 1-3+ years of collegiate coaching experience; previous experience coaching and recruiting Division III athletes. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license. CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Work is routinely performed indoors, in office environments and in gyms, and other recreational environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Off campus travel is required. WORK SCHEDULE: Varies, typical office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM with one hour allocated for lunch although weekend and evening hours are necessary.
