Requirements / Qualifications
All candidates who wish to be considered must submit an online application and attach a letter of interest. For questions regarding the coaching position, please contact Justin Marquis, Athletic Director at Paloma Valley High School, at (951) 940-6369, Ext. 22105 or justin.marquis@puhsd.org. Temporary Athletic Team Coaches shall demonstrate they meet the minimum qualifications through one or more of the following: Possession of a valid CPR and First Aid certification. Previous high school coaching experience is strongly preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of coaching girls lacrosse or five (5) years of coaching lacrosse at the high school level or above. Collegiate or professional playing experience in lacrosse may be considered in lieu of coaching experience. Comprehensive, current knowledge of the sport of girls lacrosse, including rules, game strategies, skill development, conditioning, player safety, and CIF regulations. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and develop student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, discipline, and positive character. Candidates must successfully complete an interview that evaluates their coaching philosophy, leadership abilities, and knowledge of the sport. Ability to successfully complete all District-required coaching certifications and training, including NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Concussion in Sports, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Heat Illness Prevention, and any other required District training. The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain the following prior to assuming coaching duties: Valid CPR and First Aid Certification NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification NFHS Heat Illness Prevention Certification Completion of all Perris Union High School District Human Resources onboarding requirements, fingerprint clearance, and required safety training.
Final candidate will be required to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification, NFHS Concussions in Sports certification, Online Safety Training, as well as Perris Union High School District Human Resources required documents and screenings.
