JOB TITLE: Head Girls Track Coach

LOCATION: Taylor County Middle School

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Board Approval

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal and Athletic Director

FUNDING SOURCE: Excess Levy

SALARY/STIPEND: Per Taylor County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule which can be found at the following link: https://aptg.co/00vKHP

QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate West Virginia Department of Education Certification

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional and Interpersonal Relations-

• Cooperate with building Principal and Athletic Director.
• Develop rapport with coaching staff within the school.
• Organize coaching staff.
• Develop positive relationships with participants, student body, faculty, parents and community, game officials, news media, opponents.
• Employs appropriate conduct during practice and games.
• Attend league, conference and WVSSAC meetings.
• Participate in activities that foster professional growth and development.
• Motivate staff and players toward desired goals.
• Command respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior and language.

Coaching and Related Areas-

• Develop high caliber and quality instruction.
• Teach fundamental skills.
• Handles athletic injuries.
• Cares for equipment.
• Supervise participants and disciplines team appropriately.
• Design quality organization of practice sessions.
• Designs pre-season planning.
• Supervise managers and other support personnel.
• Manage budget.
• Follow purchasing procedures.
• Initiate game organizational skills.
• Follow league: conference and WVSSAC policies.
• Devote time and energy to coaching duties.
• Follow end of season procedures.
