Head Middle School Football Coach

Job Title: Middle School Football Coach

Location: Soap Lake School District

Reports To: Athletic Director / Middle School Principal

Employment Type: Seasonal / Stipend Position based on 120 hours

Job Summary:

The Middle School Football Coach is responsible for developing and managing the middle school football program at Soap Lake. The coach will focus on teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and conditioning.
  • Supervise players during practices, games, and team activities.
  • Teach the rules and fundamentals of football in a positive and age-appropriate way.
  • Promote academic success and ensure student-athlete eligibility.
  • Communicate with parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
  • Ensure safety through proper instruction and use of equipment.
  • Attend all district parent meetings, pre-season, awards ceremonies
  • Model and promote good sportsmanship and respectful behavior.
  • Follow all Soap Lake School District, league, and WIAA policies.

Qualifications:

  • Coaching or football experience preferred, especially with middle school age groups.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and relate to middle school students.
  • Must meet district and WIAA coaching requirements (including First Aid/CPR, concussion training, and background check).

This position is not benefit eligible unless 630 hours is anticipated/reached in the school year
