SUMMARY

 

A Head of Business Support is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and optimizing essential administrative, operational, and support functions—such as Accounting, Business planning, finance, IT, and facilities—to ensure company efficiency. This position leads teams to deliver strategic planning, risk management, and performance analytics to align with business goals. Travel up to 10% as needed.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Operational Optimization: Streamline administrative processes, IT systems, and facilities management for optimal efficiency.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead or contribute to annual business planning and performance tracking, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and evaluate support staff, setting performance targets and fostering a high-quality service culture.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide reports on performance metrics and risk management for the senior leadership team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align support services with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Budgeting and Procurement: Oversee support service budgets and assist with financial planning or contract reviews.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Producing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Operational Oversight: Managing general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
  • Strategic Planning: Creating and overseeing long-term, annual, and quarterly strategic plans to drive growth.
  • Financial & Performance Analysis: Managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting on financial health to senior management.
  • Operational Alignment: Ensuring departmental goals are aligned with the company’s vision and overseeing cross-functional projects.
  • Internal Controls: Developing and enforcing accounting policies to ensure data integrity and minimize risk.
  • Strategic Advisory: Providing financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to the management team.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) often preferred.
  • Experience: Usually 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant management experience.
  • Certification: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred, sometimes required.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and accounting software/ERP systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities. 
  • Korean bilingual preferred

·          Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far

·          Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors

·          Travel: up to 10% as needed

The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located in Cleveland, OH. The pay is only displayed for Cleveland, OH is $150,000 - $180,000 base salary per year.

The above-listed salary range is required by the Cleveland Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Cleveland, OH. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
