We are seeking a Head of Construction Development to join the growing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This senior leadership role is ideal for a highly connected construction executive who can drive strategic growth, strengthen client partnerships, and help shape the future direction of a respected and expanding construction services practice.

What You'll Do as the Head of Construction Development:

  • Lead business development efforts across public and private sector construction and environmental projects
  • Identify growth opportunities and develop pursuit strategies that drive repeat and expanded business
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and industry partners
  • Serve as a senior representative of the organization in meetings, industry associations, conferences, and trade events
  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, and technical strategy for new project pursuits
  • Provide senior oversight of construction and field services project planning and execution
  • Review project budgets, financial performance, utilization forecasting, and staffing plans
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, safety standards, and client and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and guide project teams, field personnel, and emerging leaders across the organization
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term strategy, market positioning, and service expansion initiatives
  • Contribute to organizational planning, staffing strategy, and operational resource decisions

Must-Haves as the Head of Construction Development:

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in construction, environmental, civil, or related professional services
  • Proven success driving business growth through client relationships and market development
  • Strong understanding of public and private sector construction delivery methods and procurement processes
  • Experience in a senior leadership, operations, or practice-building role
  • Strong financial, operational, and strategic decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to lead teams while remaining engaged in project execution and client delivery
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business applications
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as needed

Nice-to-Haves as the Head of Construction Development:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Existing relationships with Bay Area public agencies, developers, consultants, or infrastructure clients
  • Experience within environmental remediation, civil construction, or field services organizations
