The Opportunity
The Head of Finance & Administration will be a key leadership seat responsible for strengthening the internal financial and administrative engine of Rhoden Roofing. This person will lead Accounting, financial reporting, payroll administration, job closeout processes, recruiting/onboarding administration, vendor coordination, and core administrative functions.
This is a role for someone who can see both the details and the bigger picture. The right person will care about clean books, accurate gross margins, strong controls, efficient administrative processes, and helping leaders make better decisions from better numbers.
Why This Role Matters
Rhoden Roofing is entering a stage where strong financial leadership is not optional. The company needs clean numbers, clear accountability, strong administrative execution, and a finance leader who can help the business grow with confidence. For the right person, this is an opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership seat now and grow toward CFO-level impact over time.
What You Will Own
- Finance & accounting leadership. Lead the Accounting function, including AR, AP, accounting support, financial accuracy, internal controls, and timely reporting.
- Job closeout and margin integrity. Own and improve the job closeout process, which serves as a final financial checkpoint for gross margin accuracy, commissions, job costing, and company reporting.
- Monthly financial reporting. Own the monthly financial reporting package for the Leadership Team, including P&L accuracy, gross margin reporting, cash visibility, AR/AP status, and job closeout trends.
- Operational financial insight. Explain the numbers, identify issues and trends, and help leaders understand what needs to change inside the business.
- Payroll administration. Take ownership of the administrative side of payroll coordination and help build a process that is accurate, timely, and scalable.
- People and administrative infrastructure. Lead recruiting and onboarding administration, coordinate with outside HR partners, and help ensure employee administration is consistent and well managed.
- Vendor, insurance, and contract administration. Oversee key administrative responsibilities including company insurance coordination, contracts, renewals, documentation requests, and vendor management.
- Growth readiness. Help build the financial and administrative processes needed to support future locations, integrations, and continued company growth.
How You Will Lead
This role will work closely with the CEO, COO/Integrator, fractional CFO, and Leadership Team. The Head of Finance & Administration will own the internal financial data and reporting rhythm while partnering with the fractional CFO on banking relationships, debt, financing, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
Because this person will be close to the numbers every day, they will have meaningful input into financial decisions and company direction. The best candidate will be comfortable bringing clarity, not just data.
Who You Are
- You are humble, hungry, and smart.
- You bring your own energy - batteries included - and do not need to be pushed to take ownership.
- You are financially sharp and operationally practical.
- You can lead people, set expectations, and follow through.
- You are steady under pressure and willing to have direct, professional conversations when something is off.
- You care about clean data because you know decisions, commissions, payroll, and trust depend on it.
- You can translate financial information into simple, useful insight for non-financial leaders.
- You are excited by the chance to build something stronger, cleaner, and more scalable.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance leadership experience with Controller-level capability.
- QuickBooks experience required.
- Experience leading accounting team members and improving financial processes.
- Ability to own month-end reporting, financial controls, gross margin reporting, payroll administration, and job closeout processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to operational leaders.
- Construction, trades, roofing, project-based business, or job-costing experience strongly preferred, but not required.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar advanced financial/accounting credential required.
- Strong judgment, integrity, confidentiality, and leadership maturity.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Primarily office-based with occasional local travel to job sites or events
- Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats
