Lead Regulatory & Financial Reporting For Broker-DealerEuropean broker-dealer based in Midtown.Job DescriptionOversee the preparation and delivery of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.Ensure compliance with SEC and FINRA reporting requirements, including FOCUS reports and Net Capital calculations.Lead the interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory developments.Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance).Partner with senior finance leadership, risk, legal, and operations teams on key initiatives and regulatory matters.Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory examinations.Oversee the general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting processes to ensure data integrity.Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the reporting function.Support strategic initiatives, including new product launches, system implementations, and organizational growth.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantSignificant experience in financial reporting within a broker-dealer or regulated financial services environment.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC / FINRA regulatory requirements.Series 99 or Series 27 licence strongly preferred.Experience with Net Capital rules and broker-dealer financial filings (e.g. FOCUS) required.Prior leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.Exposure to Accounting Policy or technical accounting matters is highly desirable.CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.Skills & AttributesStrong technical accounting and regulatory reporting expertise.Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.Effective communicator, comfortable engaging with regulators and senior stakeholders.Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strategic thinker with strong process improvement capabilities.What's On OfferThis is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and enhance a firm's financial reporting and regulatory framework.
