About ThinkingAI
ThinkingAI provides enterprise-grade Agentic AI that lets any business deploy a full team of autonomous AI agents to grow revenue and retention. Our Agentic Engine runs inside a company's own infrastructure, 24/7 — sensing business signals, reasoning through why they happened, launching campaigns and workflows, and validating results through built-in A/B testing, all without manual intervention or moving data off-premises.Trusted by 1,500+ companies worldwide and powering 8,000+ products, our agents span 100+ domain-specific skills across analytics, user and payment analysis, engagement, retention, and attribution. Full data sovereignty — on-premises or VPC deployment with GDPR/CCPA compliance — is built into everything we ship. We're an AI-native company operating across the US, EU, and APAC. We don't just sell agentic software; we run on it — and this role sits at the center of how we do that.
The Role
We're hiring our Head of Operations to be the operational backbone of our US business and the connective tissue between our US and China teams. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who wants to build — not inherit — the systems, processes, and hiring engine that let a global company move fast without breaking. You'll own three things end to end: talent, finance & administration, and cross-border coordination.
What You'll Own
Talent & Hiring
- Lead the full US hiring process — sourcing, pipeline, interviewing logistics, offers, and onboarding — across commercial and technical roles
- Build a repeatable, high-quality recruiting engine and manage relationships with external recruiting/HR vendors (e.g. Deel, Beisen)
- Shape team structure, foster cross-functional collaboration, and help build the culture of a young US organization
Finance & Administration
- Manage core financial processes: budgeting, expense management, payroll coordination, vendor payments, and invoicing
- Partner with global finance on intercompany flows, reporting, and compliance across our international entities
- Own US business operations: contracts, vendor coordination, insurance, and office/administrative infrastructure
Legal & Compliance
- Own the US legal function operationally — engage and manage relationships with outside counsel and local law firms, and serve as the internal point of contact for legal matters
- Apply working knowledge of California employment and business law to day-to-day operations, hiring, and contracts, escalating to counsel where appropriate
- Oversee contracts, entity and compliance filings, and risk management in partnership with finance and leadership
China–US Bridge
- Serve as the primary operational link between US leadership and China HQ — translating priorities, norms, and processes in both directions
- Navigate timezone, language, and cultural differences to keep the two sides aligned and moving
- Represent US operational needs to China and localize China's processes for the US context
Who You Are
- Bilingual and bicultural: native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with genuine comfort operating inside both Chinese and US business cultures. This is a hard requirement — the bridge function depends on it.
- A builder: you've stood up processes and teams from scratch, not just maintained existing ones. You're energized by ambiguity and a blank slate.
- Operationally broad: comfortable spanning HR/recruiting, finance, and general operations — a generalist who can go deep where needed.
- Smart and high-agency: you figure things out, drive them to done, and raise the bar for the people around you.
- A team builder: you know how to hire well, develop people, and create cooperation across functions and geographies.
- Legally fluent: familiar with California employment and business law, with experience selecting, managing, and working alongside outside counsel. (You're not the lawyer — you're the operator who knows when and how to use one.)
- AI-forward: you already use AI tools extensively in your own work and are excited to help build an operation that runs on them. (Longer term, we expect our operations to be substantially AI-augmented — you'll be at the center of that.)
Nice to Have
- Experience at a startup or high-growth company scaling its US presence
- Prior experience operating across US–China (or US–Asia) business contexts
- Background touching two or more of: recruiting/People ops, finance/accounting, business operations
Why This Role
You'll be the founding operations leader of a global AI company at an inflection point — reporting directly to a co-founder, with the mandate and autonomy to build the operational foundation of the US business. If you want scope, ownership, and a front-row seat to a China-to-global scaling story, this is it.
