The Head of Practice will serve as Augintel's senior subject matter expert on child welfare practice, policy, operations, and workflows. The successful candidate will have the professional stature and gravitas to engage confidently with child welfare commissioners, cabinet secretaries, agency directors, legislators, advocacy organizations, and other senior stakeholders.

Working closely with the CEO, Head of Sales, Head of Customer Impact, Product team, and other company leaders, the Head of Practice will help ensure that Augintel remains grounded in the needs of social services professionals and the individuals and families they serve. This person will also serve as one of the public faces of Augintel and establish the company as a leading voice on the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in child welfare and other social services systems.

· Serve as a close strategic advisor to the CEO on company direction, market priorities, product strategy, partnerships, and emerging industry trends.

· Bring a system-level child welfare perspective to executive decision-making.

· Help ensure that Augintel's mission remains central to its business decisions, product development, customer relationships, and growth.

· Advise leadership on changes in child welfare policy, funding, technology, workforce conditions, and agency priorities.

· Participate in selected executive, board, customer, and partner discussions.

Government and Industry Engagement

· Build trusted relationships with child welfare commissioners, secretaries, directors, deputy directors, legislative leaders, and policy staff, as well as federal child welfare leaders.

· Partner with Head of Sales on account development and strategy plans for state and local agencies.

· Communicate effectively with state legislatures and other government stakeholders about child welfare practice, innovation, technology, and responsible AI.

· Represent Augintel in policy discussions, briefings, hearings, roundtables, and industry forums.

· Navigate public-sector, political, and organizational complexity with credibility, diplomacy, and sound judgment.

Child Welfare Subject Matter Expertise

· Serve as Augintel's senior internal expert on child welfare practice, policy, operations, and frontline workflows.

· Advise Product and Engineering teams on the needs of caseworkers, supervisors, managers, and agency leaders.

· Review product concepts, features, messaging, and customer strategies to ensure they are credible, useful, and grounded in real-world agency needs.

· Support Customer Impact team in helping customers translate Augintel insights into practice improvement, policy decisions, supervision, and operational change.

Market Development

· Partner with the CEO to identify opportunities in adjacent social services markets.

· Help evaluate potential opportunities in behavioral health, juvenile justice, homelessness, public benefits, disability services, aging, and other human services sectors.

· Assess the workflows, policy environments, data challenges, and unmet needs of new markets.

· Support the development of market-specific use cases, value propositions, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.

· Participate in strategic customer and prospect meetings where senior practice expertise can strengthen the relationship.

External Leadership and Thought Leadership

· Serve as Augintel's principal public representative alongside the CEO and Head of Customer Impact.

· Represent the company and present at conferences, association meetings, policy forums, webinars, customer events, and industry gatherings.

· Develop white papers, articles, policy briefs, blogs, presentations, and other thought-leadership materials.

· Help establish Augintel as a trusted authority on child welfare practice, narrative data, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in social services.

Advocacy and Ecosystem Development

· Build relationships with national, state, and regional child welfare advocacy organizations.

· Develop a broad ecosystem of child welfare partners, including technology vendors, consulting firms, system integrators, researchers, universities, foundations, associations, and service providers.

· Identify opportunities for joint initiatives, research, publications, conference presentations, proposals, and strategic partnerships.

· Help position Augintel as a credible, mission-aligned participant in the broader child welfare community.

Candidate Profile

This person must be able to influence senior leaders, communicate with clarity and authority, and connect child welfare practice with product strategy, market development, and responsible innovation.
