About the job

In this role, you will own the strategic roadmap for critical, high-stakes reward programs, acting as a thought-leader and authoritative advisor to senior leadership, proactively identifying organizational gaps, and driving holistic solutions that ensure we remain a competitive destination for global AI talent. You"ll own the delivery of critical programs with organization-wide impact. You will operate independently of organizational boundaries, advocating for long-term improvements to DeepMind-wide initiatives. You will serve as a reward expert, setting the standards for reward practices and nurturing talent through mentorship and coaching. While you lead through influence rather than hierarchy, you will be responsible for forming strategic cross-functional alliances that align the business with our overarching mission.

Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity's most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with exceptional interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high-quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority.

We are pushing the boundaries across multiple domains. Our global teams offer diverse learning opportunities and varied career pathways for those driven to achieve exceptional results through collective effort.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $230,400-$320,400 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, proactively identifying complex challenges and providing strategic POVs to shape the long-term reward philosophy.

  • Lead high-stakes programs, advocating for holistic improvements that go beyond immediate asks.

  • Form strategic alliances across DeepMind and Google, influencing stakeholders with competing objectives to align on the mission.

  • Set the standards for Reward as a go-to authority, coaching others to elevate the expertise of the broader People and Culture team.

  • Solve problems holistically, ensuring solutions integrate with DeepMind's culture and demonstrating expert judgement. Remain confident working directly with data to support or disprove hypotheses, while role-modeling AI adoption and novel technical solutions to innovate existing practices and solve critical challenges.
