    University Club of San Francisco

    The University Club of San Francisco is seeking a Head of Squash / Athletics to lead the revival and growth of our squash program. This is a high-visibility opportunity for a polished squash professional who combines strong coaching credentials with the energy to build community, grow participation, and create a vibrant member experience.

    This role is primarily squash-focused, leading adult and junior programming, lessons, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and member engagement. The position also includes the opportunity to support select wellness and fitness-adjacent initiatives that complement squash participation and enhance the Club's athletic experience.

    About the Role

    The Head of Squash will serve as the face of the program and a visible leader within the Club's athletic community. We are looking for someone who can restore momentum to a valued program, create strong member relationships, and help shape the next chapter of squash at the Club.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and grow the Club's squash program with a strong focus on participation, instruction, organization, and member engagement.
    • Deliver private, semi-private, and group lessons for adults and juniors across a range of skill levels.
    • Organize singles and doubles play, clinics, ladders, leagues, round robins, and tournaments.
    • Rebuild and strengthen junior squash through lessons, clinics, camps, and family-friendly programming.
    • Create a welcoming and energetic squash culture by connecting members and encouraging regular play; Introduce new squash members to the Club by arranging games and connecting them with other members.
    • Plan and execute squash events, exhibitions, championships, and community-building activities.
    • Maintain clear communication regarding schedules, sign-ups, lessons, and programming.
    • Support pro shop activity, racquet stringing services, and operational administration duties.
    • Help uphold high standards for court presentation, safety, and day-to-day facility readiness.
    • Contribute to practical, squash-aligned wellness initiatives such as mobility, recovery, warm-up, or conditioning concepts that fit the Club's current space and programming capacity.

    Candidate Qualifications

    • Strong competitive and teaching background in squash, ideally including both singles and doubles.
    • Experience teaching adults and juniors across multiple skill levels.
    • Demonstrated ability to build or grow leagues, clinics, camps, tournaments, or community programming.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Highly organized, professional, and comfortable balancing instruction with administration.
    • Member-focused, relationship-driven, and energized by the opportunity to rebuild and shape a program.
    • Private-club, academy, school, or similarly service-oriented experience is preferred.
    • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
