The Opportunity
As the Mayor's most senior advisor, the Head of the Mayor's plays a pivotal role in translating political ambition into actionable policies, ensuring seamless alignment between policy execution and operational oversight. This position guarantees that the Mayor's priorities are effectively implemented by the Mayor's Office, the Combined Authority, and external partners.
As the primary point of contact for stakeholders engaging with the Mayor, the Head of the Mayor's Office ensures the Mayor's agenda is executed with precision, pace, and impact. This role demands a profound understanding of public affairs, operations, and policy delivery, providing strategic counsel to the Mayor and ensuring the smooth functioning of the office.
Moreover, the Head of the Mayor's Office is tasked with articulating the Mayor's vision to partners and stakeholders, ensuring it resonates across the region. This involves collaborating with the Combined Authority and external organisations to maximise alignment with the Mayor's priorities and strategically utilising the Mayor's time to drive impactful results.
