Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for program development for competitive recreation participants, the training of athletes and the teaching recreational classes, as required to include routines, lesson plans, staff training, program scheduling, and management of all team issues.
Examples of Duties:
- Coaches competitive year-round program with measurable goals and objectives.
- Develops an overall training program to prepare athletes to compete, and establishes a competitive training schedule for team members. Manages team athletes, staff, and parent relationships.
- Monitors and applies individual athletes' progressions on skills and techniques, implementing USAG curriculum. Prepares lesson plans and skill progressions.
- Trains all other coaches in the program(s).
- Develops a full meet schedule for all levels of teams, to include travel, fees, expenses, tracking of results and progression of team members.
- Coordinates team routines, including choreography and staff training.
- Develops and presents an information packet for parents and athletes. Sets policies and procedures with the Athletic Superintendent. Assists recreation classes as needed, evaluates recreation participants for future team participation.
- Ensures that all safety protocols are followed and maintains all Gymnastics equipment to USAG standards, responsible for weekly and monthly reports, purchases and repairs.
- Works with other Recreation Department staff and associated booster clubs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- United States Gymnastics Association (USAG) Professional Certification at the time of application.
- Valid driver's license.
- CPR certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rec Trac software knowledge.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
