Head Start Co-Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:The Co-Teacher supports the care, education, and development of preschool children ages 3–5 by helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. This position works collaboratively with the teaching team to provide a high-quality Preschool program that supports the needs of children and families while meeting program performance standards.

Responsibilities include co-planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, participating in ongoing child assessment, and maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment. The Co-Teacher is also expected to model and uphold the organization’s Core Values in all interactions.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, works effectively as part of a team, and approaches children, families, and coworkers with respect, professionalism, and a non-judgmental attitude.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Comply with federal, state, and agency policies and procedures
2. Co-planning activities and ongoing assessment of the children in the program.
3. Provide quality care and education adhering to the Head Start guidelines.
4. Ability to work in a team, complete daily planning, paperwork and cleaning as needed.
5. Complete annual training and continuing education requirements.
6. Participate in all required meetings and trainings
7. Adhere to all CNCAP policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid driver's license
3. Prior employment or volunteer experience working with preschool age children.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday

REPORTS TO: Teacher Center Specialist

JOB STATUS: Full-Time

PAY: $15.98-$17.65/hour (depending on qualifications).This position is eligible for a Bilingual (Spanish) pay differential!
