About the New Mexico Military Institute:

The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, coeducational institution offering college-preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI offers a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited and prepares students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a distinctive curriculum emphasizing immersive, intensive, hands-on learning in a structured environment.

Position:

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics or their designee, the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for oversight and execution of Strength and Conditioning programs, Physical Fitness Programs, and related PHEA courses; performs other duties as assigned. The salary range is $56,000.00 - $65,000.00, based on education level and experience.

Tasks:

• Develop and implement team strength and conditioning programs in accordance with current training philosophies and modalities • Develop and execute the Corps Physical Fitness program in accordance with current training philosophies and modalities • Provide Support for the Prep Physical Fitness program, in accordance with the needs of the individual cadet's academy • Supervision and mentorship of assistant strength coach/GAC manager • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills:

• Strong knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques • Ability to develop periodized training programs • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong oral communication skills • Extensive ability to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, etc. • Strong desire to remain cognizant of current and emerging human performance topics

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited program • Two years of related experience • Must obtain CSCS or SCCC certificate within 6 months of hire • Ability to fulfill administrative role as needed • Ability to provide effective leadership

Preferred:

• Master's degree • One or more of the following credentials: CSCS, SCCC certification • CPR/BLS certification • Related experience in a leadership role
