Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 20% Assists tellers with daily activities such as check approval, adding checks, locating errors and resolving member related questions.
  • 20% Manages vault cash. Orders daily cash requirement.
  • 10% Responsible for maintaining and monitoring branch equipment including ATM activity and cash dispenser(s).
  • 5% Responsible for maintaining and controlling consignment items.
  • 5% Responsible for the daily branch balancing.
  • 15% Completes reports, coordinates audits, and provides other required documentation on a timely basis.
  • 5% Evaluates, documents, and provides on-going feedback to tellers to improve work performance. Provides feedback to the manager regarding disciplinary issues, including balancing, attendance, and/or overall work performance.
  • 5% Responsible for the development of positive working relationships within the branch in order to provide quality service to the membership.
  • 5% Attends Head Teller meetings as scheduled and relays information to the branch manager and fellow employees as needed.
  • 5% May maintain a teller window to accommodate member traffic.
  • 5% Performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily demands.
  2. Ensure that all tellers are providing friendly, professional, personal service to all members. Must maintain an average Quality Loop score of 6.7 or higher.
  3. Promote a sales culture within the branch by example. Coach and develop employees to identify cross sales opportunities.
  4. Maintain high branch audit scores with limited audit exceptions.
  5. Keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the branch.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience One year cumulative teller experience

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside of the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills Must be satisfactorily performing all teller functions. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise. Must demonstrate excellent judgement in order to evaluate accounts and situations for approval. Must be organized and have the ability to move quickly from one priority to another. Must be familiar with all services of the credit union in order to make appropriate referrals. 10-key calculator and computer keyboard skills required; must be accurate with numbers and names.
