The New Berlin West Athletics and Activities Department is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic leader to fill the position of Head Varsity Cheer Coach for the 2026-27 season. The Head Coach is directly responsible for all aspects of the New Berlin West Cheer program, providing a competitive and development-focused environment. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership qualities, a positive and enthusiastic approach, and a deep passion for mentoring student-athletes through the sport of cheerleading.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Establish and implement a clear vision and philosophy for the entire cheer program, focusing on both sideline spirit and competitive performance.
Technical Oversight: Lead the instruction of stunt progressions, safety standards, choreography, and competition preparation, ensuring all activities meet WACPC and NFHS safety guidelines.
Staff & Athlete Development: Manage a high-quality coaching staff to provide an exceptional student-athlete experience. Assist athletes in maximizing their academic and athletic potential through high performance expectations.
Integrated Conditioning: Partner with the school-sponsored strength and conditioning staff to develop athlete power and stamina, while encouraging multi-activity participation across the school.
Operational Management: Oversee the program's annual budget, equipment needs, and uniforms. Plan and execute effective practices that emphasize skill development and team culture.
Community Engagement: Partner with New Berlin youth cheer programs and encourage student-athletes to give back through camps, clinics, and volunteer opportunities.
Professional Collaboration: Work cooperatively with all NBW coaching staffs, the Booster Club, and the Athletic Department to promote a unified school spirit.
