Position Title: Head Varsity Soccer Coach                                                              Department: Athletics

Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor                                                          Reports To: Athletic Director

Position Summary: The Head Varsity Soccer Coach is responsible for creating and supporting various aspects of the Soccer program, such as program development, training, and coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by The Cambridge School of Dallas. Cambridge is a member of the TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE AND PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS Conference (TAPPS).

Job Duties:

  • Encourages, trains, and coaches the participants within the program.
  • Helps organize practice sessions.
  • Represents The Cambridge School of Dallas and the Soccer and athletic program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.

Minimum Educational Background: High School Diploma; must be 18 years of age or older.

Previous Related Experience: coaching experience required; TAPPS experience preferred, but not required.

Expectations/Requirements for Successful Performance:

  • Possesses basketball/coaching experience.
  • Enjoys coaching and working with children.
  • Has reliable transportation and can comply with the Cambridge Fleet Policy which includes a valid driver’s license, valid proof of insurance, and participation in driver safety training provided by the school.
  • Possesses a positive attitude and can share a passion of Soccer and Christ with students!
  • Maintains a strong commitment to the student-athlete concept.
  • Displays effective leadership, coaching and communication skills.
  • Maintains good communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department, potentially utilizing Blackbaud as a means of communication among other technologies.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time; early Fall/Winter season; M-F with occasional Saturday.
  • On & off-Campus responsibilities.
  • Predominant practices at 3:30PM and games between 5:00PM until 9:00PM. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday/weekend commitments for games, including travel.
  • Requires frequent activities requiring physical exertion, including but not limited to standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, exercising, and driving.
