Head Varsity Track Coach

Job Summary: As a staff member of the athletic program under the direction of the athletic director, the head coach implements approved policies of the athletic program; directs the overall activities of the team; cultivates and maintains a positive team culture and provides a positive experience for the student-athletes; communicates effectively with administration, student-athletes, parents, and the media; recommends budget requests for supplies and equipment; provides for the welfare of the athletes; maintains and enhances the school's standing in the community through the conduct and performance of the players; and fulfills such other duties associated with the team and athletes as may be assigned by the athletic director.

The authority and responsibility of the head coach extend to assistant coaches and all athletes specifically involved in the particular sport in providing for the health, safety, physical, mental and educational development of each athlete.

Position Information:

• Part-time, no benefits
• Experience will be considered in setting salary

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent necessary
• High school varsity level coaching in the direct sport
• Evidence of effective leadership of a scholastic squad (varsity, JV, junior high)
• Ability to articulate vision for building/enhancing the scholastic program, including effective collaboration with community programs
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
