RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of the Head Women's Softball Coach is to instruct student-athletes in the performance of the sport of softball. To that end, they are responsible for the organization, direction, and administration of the softball program, including the implementation and maintenance of standards of academic and athletic excellence. The Head Women's Softball Coach must have a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of Morehead State University and the NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and coaching experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted for coaching experience. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Excellent communications and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success.

Organizational Relationships
Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Athletics; with upline reporting to the Director of Athletics, Vice President for Student Success and President. They have downline supervision of Assistant Softball Coach and Graduate Assistants. Other interaction with Assistant Director of Athletics, Compliance and Educational Services Director, Athletic Training staff, Sports Information staff, student/athletes, media, faculty, and other staff members.
Physical Requirements Working Conditions
In accordance with the principles of NCAA rules compliance, it is understood that any employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations. Visible program under constant scrutiny of students, faculty, staff, community, media, and alumni. Considerable travel and frequent night and weekend hours involved. Primary field maintenance personnel.
