Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Header Welder for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Sapulpa. This is a skilled, multi-process welding position focused on the fabrication of box headers and critical pressure-containing components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates must have strong multi-process welding experience and be capable of working with MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Core, and Submerged Arc (SUBARC) processes as required.
Quality is critical in this position. Candidates must successfully complete multiple weld tests subject to radiographic and bend testing and consistently produce welds that meet applicable quality and code requirements.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong multi-process welding experience required
MIG welding experience
Flux Core welding experience
TIG welding experience
Stick welding experience
Submerged Arc (SUBARC) welding experience
Ability to successfully complete all required weld tests
Strong blueprint and fabrication drawing interpretation skills
Ability to read welding specifications
Experience welding heavy fabricated or pressure-containing components preferred
Strong attention to weld quality and workmanship
Ability to produce welds capable of passing radiographic inspection
Ability to work efficiently in a production environment
Strong understanding of welding safety practices
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding on box headers and related components
Complete MIG welding according to applicable procedures
Perform Flux Core welding as required
Perform TIG welding on assigned components
Complete Stick welding according to specifications
Operate Submerged Arc welding equipment
Read and interpret fabrication blueprints and drawings
Follow applicable welding specifications and procedures
Prepare components and joints for welding
Maintain proper welding parameters throughout production
Inspect completed welds for visible defects and workmanship concerns
Ensure completed work meets applicable quality and code requirements
Identify and correct welding concerns when necessary
Maintain consistent productivity without sacrificing weld quality
Keep welding equipment and work areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety and production procedures
Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete all required hands-on weld testing.

Header Welding Responsibilities
Weld box headers and related fabricated components
Follow required joint configurations and welding procedures
Maintain proper penetration and weld profile
Work with heavy fabricated materials
Complete welds according to applicable code and quality requirements
Inspect work throughout the welding process
Identify potential defects before components move to final inspection
Complete repairs or corrections when required
Blueprint & Welding Specification Responsibilities
Read fabrication blueprints
Interpret drawings and welding requirements
Review applicable welding specifications
Identify joint configurations
Follow required welding sequences and processes
Verify components before welding
Communicate drawing or specification concerns to appropriate personnel
Quality & Inspection Requirements
Quality is a critical part of this Header Welder position.
Produce welds that meet applicable code requirements
Maintain consistent workmanship and weld appearance
Inspect completed welds for visible defects
Follow applicable quality procedures
Produce welds capable of passing radiographic inspection
Successfully complete required bend testing
Identify and correct weld defects
Maintain attention to quality throughout the entire production process
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Header Welder experience
Pressure vessel or pressure-containing component experience
Advanced multi-process welding experience
X-ray quality welding experience
Submerged Arc welding experience
Heavy plate welding experience
Previous 2G welding experience
Strong blueprint-reading skills
Manufacturing or heavy fabrication experience
Experience working under code-controlled welding requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, positioning, pushing, and pulling
Ability to weld in required positions
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for precision welding
Ability to safely handle fabricated components and welding equipment
Comfortable working around welding equipment, heavy steel, grinders, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication work while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Heavy industrial welding and manufacturing environment
Regular work involving box headers, fabricated components, welding machines, and heavy materials
Multi-process welding position requiring MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Core, and SUBARC skills
Quality-intensive work involving radiographic and bend-test requirements
