    Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“Jamison”) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Health Aide / Mental Health Technician.

    Candidate must be able to provide a current resume documenting applicable experience and three (3) professional references, including your current or most recent supervisor.

    Job Title: Health Aide / Mental Health Technician (Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program)
    Location: Bonham, Texas
    Schedule: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays as Assigned
    Hourly Rate: TBD during interview.

    DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
    This position supports Veterans receiving residential rehabilitation services by providing continuous patient observation, therapeutic engagement, behavioral monitoring, and assistance with daily program operations in a 24-hour treatment environment. Contractor personnel work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation technicians, social workers, and other clinical professionals to ensure a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment.

    Responsibilities:
    Observe, monitor, and document patient behaviors, symptoms, actions, and responses to treatment.
    Conduct patient safety rounds every two (2) hours.
    Assist with patient admissions and discharge procedures.
    Escort patients throughout the medical center.
    Provide therapeutic support during individual and group activities.
    Assist physicians and clinical staff in rehabilitation treatment activities.
    Report changes in patient condition or behavior immediately to appropriate clinical staff.
    Monitor patient whereabouts to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
    Support patients participating in maintenance therapy.
    Orient new patients to the treatment program.
    Respond appropriately during medical emergencies by notifying clinical personnel.
    Occasionally provide front desk reception support by greeting patients and directing visitors appropriately.
    Follow all VA policies, infection control procedures, HIPAA requirements, safety standards, and Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program procedures.
    Maintain professionalism while promoting a cooperative therapeutic environment.
    Complete all assigned documentation accurately and timely.
    Perform additional duties necessary to support patient care operations.

    REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    Applicants must meet ALL of the following minimum qualifications.

    • High School Diploma or equivalent AND
    • Two (2) years of study at an accredited college, university, junior college, or similar institution that included at least 12 semester hours in one or more of the following disciplines:
      • Health Sciences / Nursing / Behavioral Science / Social Science / Guidance / Counseling / Teaching / Biological Sciences / Related field
    • Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care experience performing therapeutic and supportive tasks in a rehabilitation treatment program or similar behavioral health setting.
    • Experience working with patients experiencing mental illness, substance abuse disorders, or behavioral health conditions is highly desirable.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification / ACLS certification if required by assignment.

    Position requires:

    • Extended standing and walking / Sitting for prolonged periods / Light lifting (up to 25 pounds) / Frequent movement throughout the facility / Ability to safely assist patients as required

    Mandatory Pre-Employment Requirements

    Candidates selected for employment must successfully complete all VA credentialing requirements, including but not limited to:

    • Drug screening (if applicable)
    • Current TB screening
      • Proof of immunity or vaccination (Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Tdap, Annual Influenza, COVID-19 (or approved exemption), Hepatitis B requirements)
    • Bloodborne Pathogen training
    • Annual fit testing (N95)


    Schedule: This position requires 40 hours per week.
    Current shifts include:

    • 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
    • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

    Candidates must be available to work: Weekends / Holidays / Rotating schedules as assigned
    Holiday coverage is required. Overtime is not authorized under this contract.

    Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.
