Join our Professional Development team at the Bureau for Family Assistance and make a difference by leading training and development programs that empower the provision of family assistance services across the state. The Professional Development Program Manager will work closely with a second Professional Development Program Manager to oversee and assist Family Assistance trainers with coaching, training, and providing professional development for both new and tenured field staff. This position will apply creative problem-solving to training challenges while developing and implementing statewide training policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Under general direction and a high degree of independence, the Professional Development Program Manager will be responsible for:
Leading and supporting a team of 10-15 Family Assistance trainers located across the state.
Traveling as needed to represent the division and agency at events such as conferences or meetings, including presentations and speaking engagements.
Building, delivering, and assessing job-specific training for Family Assistance staff.
Creating a variety of training materials including learning modules, training blasts, online content, videos, and presentations.
Evaluating and updating training materials for compliance with current policies and requirements.
Utilizing learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard Ultra, Google Workspace, and video editing software to design and administer online training.
Collaborating with field staff, system staff, local and state administration, policy experts, and other outside contractors and agencies to ensure training effectiveness and quality.
Maintaining flexibility and adaptability to address urgent training needs within limited timeframes.
Developing and updating policies and procedures for training and assessments of training effectiveness.
Related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Masters degree from an accredited college or university in the area of assignment.
Substitution: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the Masters degree.
Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a program administration capacity.
Substitution: Post-graduate training in the area of assignment may substitute through an established formula for the non-supervisory experience.
Other Information
Substitution: BFA only - One year of experience as a supervisor in Economic Services may substitute for the 1 year of program administration experience.
