Advertising/Posting Title Health Care Counselor-BCBT Focused Posting Summary
This position is a collaboration between CAPS and UVM Health Network's Suicide Care Center, a multidisciplinary clinic that provides evidence-based psychological treatment to patients who experience suicidal thoughts and behaviors. The person in this position will be trained and receive consultation to provide therapy to UVM students utilizing the Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT) model. Responsibilities include consulting with students, faculty, and staff around mental health issues; providing administrative and/or clinical supervision to trainees; and providing community outreach in support of the UVM community. Support the mission and philosophy of the Center for Health and Wellbeing and Division of Student Affairs and the University of Vermont. Provide respectful and confidential services for all students.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related discipline. Two years of post-graduate related experience. Licensed, or ability to be licensed, in Vermont as a Psychologist-Masters, Mental Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker within two years of employment. Experience working with college-age issues required. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
All CHWB employees are considered Healthcare workers as defined in Vermont State Law. Vaccination against infectious diseases helps to protect against contracting infectious diseases and helps to provide "herd immunity". Vaccination of staff also provides additional protection for students who seek care with us, some of whom are immunocompromised or unable to receive vaccines for medical reasons. Desirable Qualifications
Experience with cognitive-behavioral and manualized approaches. Experience with mental health crisis response. Experience in clinical supervision. Experience within a university setting.
