The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. As a Full-Time Health Center Procurement Specialist at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you'll play a vital role under the guidance of the RSTHC Director. Your responsibilities will include providing technical assistance and executing procurement duties for both standardized and specialized services, materials, supplies, and equipment. You'll be tasked with preparing essential procurement documents for various purchases and projects, ensuring that all processes align with organizational standards. To thrive as a Full-Time Health Center Procurement Specialist with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you'll need a solid foundation in business practices, ideally supported by a Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, supply chain management, or a related field, coupled with two years of progressively responsible procurement experience. Familiarity with preparing formal and informal bids, particularly within public sector processes, is essential, while Tribal Government procurement experience is a significant asset. You’ll also benefit from a comprehensive understanding of 2 C.F.R. Uniform Administrative Requirements and 48 C.F.R.
Federal Acquisition Regulations. Your strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, will be crucial for managing documentation efficiently. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are necessary for clear interaction with stakeholders. Additionally, possessing a current CPSM certification or the ability to acquire it within six months, along with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, will further enhance your candidacy.
