LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, MADISON COUNTY
This position is located at the West Tennessee Regional Office.
This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional health program work including, at least, one year of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversite.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in a business or health related field may be substituted, on a year-for-year basis, for one year of the required nonsupervisory experience.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for year basis, to a maximum of four years.
Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
Overview
The Health Council Coordinator supports 19 counties, each holding a minimum of 4 health council meetings per year, totaling at least 76 meetings annually. This role serves as the point person for the 3-year County Health Assessment (CHA) process, providing analytical support and guidance.
Responsibilities
The Health Council Coordinator supports health educators in building and strengthening community partnerships using collective impact principles. The role aligns state, regional, and local efforts with health council priority goals, assists councils in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, and stays current on grant cycles and requirements. Responsibilities include managing administrative needs for regional and county health councils, maintaining and communicating meeting schedules, ensuring bylaw compliance, submitting food invoices, and approving council documentation. The position also supervises and provides ongoing support to the CHIP Coordinator.
