Sterling Medical is currently looking for

a Health Educator

for the 633rd Medical Group at Langley AFB

In Hampton, VA

Hours:

7:00am-5:30pm

Monday - Friday

Summary:

Health Educator: The services provided will occur in the Staff Education and Training Department of the 633rd Medical Group at Langley AFB. The department oversees the medical training applicable to the clinic and ambulatory surgical center operations of all staff members, in addition to military-specific training in preparation for combat operations. This position may include coordination of specific education programs for staff with responsibilities spanning from oversight and management of the onboarding and out-processing program for healthcare staff; administrative duties within the life support programs; leading training sessions with published curriculum, provided audio-visual aids, and guides; maintaining training records, schedules, and attendance sheets; examining requests and process transactions for professional development educational conferences and certifications of healthcare staff; serving as a bridge or a point of contact for healthcare staff and training staff; and working collaboratively with various departments.

The standard qualifications (duties) are as follows: 

 Qualifications and Skills should include:

-Customer Service Oriented

-Excellent written and verbal communication

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, self-initiated environment.

-Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and medical terminology is beneficial, but not required

-Ability to problem solve and handle and resolve issues as they arise

Qualifications

Education: 

 Degree/Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, Community Health, Business Administration or a healthcare related field (or equivalent experience) preferred but Associate’s degree or equivalent college hours required.  

Experience:

·         (1) One year in the past (2) two years of experience with Human resources, community health, business administration or healthcare related field 

Certifications:

·         Basic Life Support (BLS)

In addition to Basic Life Support  

American Red Cross (ARC) CPR & AED certification preferred prior to employment but contractor can obtain through the base Education and Training Life Support within 60 days of employment.
