Summary: The Health Educator will deliver evidenced-based programming with fidelity to youth in a variety of settings including afterschool programs and onsite and community-based organizations during times youth are not in school. The Health Educator will additionally engage program participants in activities designed to provide career exploration activities and arrange for trips to local cultural events. The Health Educator will provide parent education workshops with the goal of improving parent-child communication to support the development of positive health behaviors among youth including avoiding sexual activity.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $24 - $26.23 per hour Sign On Bonus: $1500 (Conditions Apply)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Completes orientation and trainings including mandatory on-line implementation training prior to delivering evidence-based programming. • This training is available on the ACT for Youth website at www.actforyouth.net. • Completes training for the specific evidence-based programming, if defined by the model developer. • Delivers evidenced-based program with fidelity to youth in a variety of settings. • Conducts community outreach and education. • Completes required reporting accurately and timely as designated. • Provides assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain comprehensive family planning services, health services or other essential support services as identified. • Serve as an active member of community coalitions; participate in local health fairs and community events. • Maintain program participant records and submit required data for monthly, quarterly, and annual education reports. • Represent Sun River Health and the youth health education program at local community events and coalitions.

Health Educator Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in health education or health-related field. Ability to facilitate discussion/teach classes to youth in a variety of settings on reproductive health topics such as reproductive anatomy, contraceptive methods, STIs, and HIV/AIDS. Experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to be inclusive and non-stigmatizing in their role. Knowledge of or experience with priority population to be served and community. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends. Bilingual skills, depending on the community and youth being served.

Schedule: M-F with one Saturday a month
