Health/Fitness Instructor - Aquatics Strength and Flexibility

Work Schedule:
This is a part time, per-diem position. Hours are based on program needs. This position will be focused on instructing Aquatics Strength and Flexibility classes.

Current class schedule will be Wednesday - 3:35pm-4:20pm; Thursday - 4:45pm-5:30pm. You will work at Science Drive Medical Center in Madison, WI.

Lead safe and engaging fitness classes and help motivate participants to have fun while exercising!

We are seeking a Health / Fitness Instructor to:

• Prepare and lead classes with appropriate variety and progression.
• Motivate participants and inspire participation adherence.
• Be observant, sensitive, and accommodating of participants' needs based on provided or known medical history information.
• Acquire skills/knowledge for each class as necessary through observation, practice, and independent study.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required.
• High School or Equivalent Preferred
• B.S. degree in exercise science or related field Preferred

Work Experience

• Experience as a personal trainer or teaching group exercise classes Required
• 1 year teaching group exercise classes Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Current CPR/AED Required
• Certification as instructor in specialty area Preferred

UW Health Science Drive Medical Center - on Madison's west side, is an 84,000-square foot facility housing physician and rehabilitation professionals in Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Orthopedics, Radiology, Spine and Sports Medicine. Our Fitness Center provides a resource for both working with patients while under our care and providing education after discharge. This environment creates many opportunities for face-to-face collaboration in the care of our patients.
