Description

HIM Technician IPreferred candidates are local (Onsite) or Hybrid workers within a commutable distance to NorthBay Campuses in Fairfield California. Candidates must be available schedule 7am -5pm PST.At NorthBay Health, the HIM Technician I follows established department procedures related to document imaging for NorthBay Health's health records. This role retrieves and reconciles hospital base records, outpatient, and Emergency Department records, and analyzes health records for selected deficiencies. The technician provides support to clinical areas by ensuring complete and accurate medical records are available for patient care and hospital operations. Additional responsibilities include fulfilling basic Release of Information services, answering phones, and assisting the public, physicians, and other departments. The role also assists in preparing department and organizational materials using Microsoft Office products.QualificationsEducation: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of NorthBay intranet web-based mcStrategies Medical Terminology lessons within the department introductory period.Licensure/Certification: Obtain an HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) Certification within 9 months of start date.Experience: One year working in HIM department in acute care hospital/physician office or successful completion of an approved AHIMA HIM program internship at NorthBay Health or other healthcare organization.Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate organizational time management skills. General office and computer skills.Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the True North values. Candidates must be available PST.Job is classified as hybrid remote.Other Requirements:Must have a private, distraction-free area in your home for work (HIPAA reasons).Web-cam training will be used frequently for team engagement.Internet Requirements: Must have high speed internet.Please test your internet prior to applying to make sure you are over 125 mbps download speed or be willing to upgrade upon an offer.Remote Work Eligibility: This position is open to candidates located within the continental United States.
