We are seeking a Health Program Communications Analyst to support communications, stakeholder engagement, and research activities for large-scale federal health programs. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is eager to develop expertise in health policy and communications while working alongside experienced consultants and subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, highly organized, and motivated to learn. They will enjoy tackling complex challenges, translating technical information into plain language, and identifying creative ways to engage diverse audiences.

Location

This is a hybrid position located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Regular in-office attendance (no less than two days per week) and occasional in-person client meetings are required. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the DC metro area prior to their start date. Relocation assistance is not available.

What You'll be Doing

  • Support communications planning and execution activities under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Translate complex healthcare policies, regulations, and program information into clear, audience-friendly communications.
  • Develop and edit communications materials, including presentations, web content, email communications, talking points, fact sheets, and outreach materials.
  • Assist with research, stakeholder engagement, content development, and project coordination activities.
  • Assist with stakeholder outreach, partnership development, focus groups, interviews, and audience research activities.
  • Identify innovative approaches to improve audience engagement and communication effectiveness.
  • Learn federal health programs and communications best practices while contributing to project deliverables.
  • Support website content management and digital communications activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to identify needs, solve problems, and implement solutions.
  • Monitor project activities, track action items, and communicate project status effectively.
  • Document meetings and discussions and maintain accurate project records.
  • Create visual communications products using tools such as Canva and PowerPoint.

We're Especially Interested in Candidates Who:

  • Have 0-1 years of professional experience in communications, public health, marketing, research, policy, consulting, or related fields.
  • Demonstrate strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills through coursework, internships, volunteer work, or professional experience.
  • Are intellectually curious and eager to learn about healthcare policy, public programs, and stakeholder communications.
  • Enjoy transforming complex information into clear, compelling content.
  • Bring fresh perspectives and creative ideas to communications challenges.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable seeking guidance and feedback.
  • Are detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Other Important Information

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in communications, marketing, public health, or related field
  • Applicants should have the ability to obtain a US government security clearance, if needed. Applicants must have lived in the U.S. at least three (3) of the last five (5) years to obtain the required clearance.

  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates.
