Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Suffolk

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading specialist contractor delivering works on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.

Working within a major civil engineering environment, you'll provide expert health and safety support to operational teams, ensuring the highest standards of compliance while helping to drive a positive and proactive safety culture across site.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support to operational and project teams.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Support the preparation and review of risk assessments, RAMS and construction phase plans.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training.
• Promote continuous improvement and behavioural safety initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for candidates with:

• Previous Health & Safety experience within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
• Good understanding of CDM Regulations and UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CSCS card.
• Working towards or holding IOSH membership.

Experience within ground engineering, geotechnical engineering, piling or heavy civils would be highly advantageous.
