Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM; Weekends as needed.

 

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Health Science & Behavioral Research Associate I is under the supervision of the Research Associates/Research Managers, recruits project participants and administers structured and/or interview survey materials. May be responsible for data collection, data entry, and/or study documentation. Conducts literature searches, writes summary documents, and may participate in the design of studies and metrics. The Associate will assist in recruitment and ensures that site operations remain efficient even when juggling multiple concurrent protocols. The Associate must constantly adapt to protocol amendments, evolving FDA/Health Canada updates, and shifting IRB requirements. Will be responsible for maintaining rigorous adherence to GCP and HIPAA standards—while managing high volumes of documentation—to ensure passing internal and external audits. Will be responsible for making split-second decisions to prioritize mission-critical tasks to meet sponsor deadlines.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative interviews preferred.
  • Previous experience in administering neuropsychiatric assessments and experienced in engaging pediatric populations, including children, youth, and families preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with interviewing and recruiting project participants preferred.
  • Experience using CASI interviewing tools preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Associates’ degree, Bachelor’s degree, or college education in related scientific field preferred.

  • Current Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification in Information Privacy & Security (IPS), Basic Human Research, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) highly preferred.
Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
